Chichester City have lined up a string of intriguing friendlies ahead of the the new season.
The first team, who finished third in the South West Combination League, visit the renamed Fulham FC Foundation – formerly Westfield – who play in the league immediately below, on July 20.
Then they travel to Premier League Lewes for an early test of their promotion credentials.
Their first home friendly is against Crawley Wasps, who finished two places above Westfield in the London & South East Regional Women’s League last season, before they entertain currently managerless Gillingham, who were pipped to the Premier League title on the last day of last season.
The first team’s final friendly is on August 12, five days before the start of their league campaign, at home to a third L&SERWL side, Hassocks.
New development side
Chichester’s development side, who will serve as reserves for the first team, currently have two pre-season friendlies lined up ahead of their debut season in the FAW Premier Reserves League.
They visit Bexhill United, who beat them on penalties in last season’s South East Counties League Cup, on August 17, as Bexhill prepare for their new season in the L&SEWRL.
Then they travel to Parkwood Rangers, who narrowly missed out on promotion with Bexhill from the SECWL Premier Division.
The development side’s league season begins on September 7.
All home games for both sides will be at Oaklands Park.
* The Greens are holding a series of open training sessions for potential new players at North Mundham playing fields, near Hunston, on July 15, 17, 22 and 24.
If you would like your team’s pre-season friendlies mentioned on Sent Her Forward, e-mail them to me at email@example.com. Not all matches will be included, but I’ll do my best – and might even come along to cover some of them.
