Newly promoted Chichester City have lost the manager who led them to the Premier League just a month before their historic first season in the top division begins.

Chichester’s reserves clinch championship without playing

Chichester City are celebrating their second trophy of the season after the club’s reserves won promotion¬†– without even kicking a ball.

Their scheduled opponents this Sunday, Milford & Witley,  have pulled out of the fixture, saying they cannot raise a side, forfeiting the match and handing Chichester the three points on a plate.

The points mean the reserves, who have led South East Counties Division One West for much of the season, cannot be caught – although the chances of that happening were extremely remote anyway.
