Eastbourne Town’s magical FA Cup run finally came to an end yesterday – but not before they had given Premier League Derby County a real fright.

The East Sussex side took a club two tiers above them to extra-time before succumbing to their opponents’ superior fitness, eventually losing 4-2.

It was a bitter-sweet moment for player-manager Emma Parslow and her gallant team, who had led their illustrious visitors 2-1 at one stage before being hit by a sucker-punch and then losing key players to injury. Continue reading
